Legislators Need to Hear from You: No Cost Shift

Legislators are still considering a proposal to shift the cost of teacher retirement onto cities and towns—and they need to hear from you. If this plan passes there will be less money for our schools, higher property taxes (especially in middle-income towns and Alliance districts), and districts with more experienced teachers will be penalized.

Contact your legislators now and tell them: NO Cost Shift

Please reject this plan. As a teacher I already spend thousands of dollars on my own supplies. This plan will impact my students negatively. Again, please reject this plan our students are our future.

Please do not vote for this.I totally agree with Thomas Leddy.
If the state had left our money alone and not neglected the retirement fund, there would be no problem. The state needs to cleanup it’s mess, not pass it on to the towns.

The proposal to shift the cost of teacher retirement onto cities and towns is totally unfair. This is the states responsibility and if you had not spent, neglected fund and wasted our retirement money this would not be an issue.
Lottery money was to be earmarked for education and when the legislators saw the money they took it. Now you are trying to do it again with the money for the parks. If you had left our money alone and had not taken it for other uses, there would still be enough left.
Get our state finances in shape at the state level, stop raising taxes and do your job before everyone that pays taxes leaves the state.
