CEA Vice President on the Air Discussing How to Brighten Holidays for Needy Children

CEA Vice President Jeff Leake discusses the important work of the Holiday Bear Project.

In public school classrooms across the state, students whose families are facing financial hardship have been nominated by their teachers to receive gifts through the Holiday Bear program.

A project of the Connecticut Education Foundation (CEF)—CEA’s charitable arm—Holiday Bear brightens the holidays for children in need.

You can make a difference by sponsoring a child! CEA will provide information on a nominated child, including that child’s favorite things, and you may either purchase a gift or make a monetary donation.

Listen to CEF President and CEA Vice President Jeff Leake talk about the importance of the Holiday Bear program during a recent interview with iHeart Radio.

You can also catch the interview this Sunday at

  • 6 a.m. on 960 WLEI,
  • 7 a.m. on KISS 95.7, KC 101, ESPN Radio 1300, Country 92.5, 100.9 The Beat, 97.9 ESPN, and News Radio 1410, or
  • 8 p.m. on the River 105.9.

Gifts and donations must be received by Friday, December 1, at CEA’s offices in Hartford or at CEA UniServ offices for distribution before the holidays.
