Teachers Talk with Legislators
Have you met with your state representative or state senator recently? With just two and a half months left in the legislative session, elected officials need to hear from teachers in order to get education policy right.
Educators in West Hartford recently met with their state senator and representatives to discuss a wide variety of education issues. Areas of concern that teachers shared with lawmakers included excessive testing, education funding, teacher evaluation, the age at which children enter school, and more.
The meeting at Sedgwick Middle School with State Senator Beth Bye, and State Representatives Andy Fleischmann, Brian Becker, and Joe Verrengia was arranged by West Hartford Education Association Political Action Chair Ted Goerner.
