December 3, 2009

Kristi Luetjen, a kindergarten teacher at Whiting Lane Elementary in West Hartford, is Connecticut’s 2010 Teacher of the Year.  She is featured in the December-January CEA Advisor, which will soon be arriving at your home.

The video below was filmed October 14, immediately after Luetjen was named Connecticut Teacher of the Year.  She speaks about being named Teacher of the Year, her work with special education students, and how she has brought yoga into the classroom.

I love the Yoga idea. I’m noticing more anxiety in children and this may be another way to help them be more successful.

I have read the article in the CEA Newsletter about Kristi Luetjen and she is a true inspiration. She is a wonderful example of what all people can aspire to be.

Congratulations Kristi on being honored as 2010 Teacher of the Year. Thank you for your dedication to your students. Also, yoga is a wonderful method to teach students coping skills.

Why wasn’t Kristi’s name on the front of the magazine with her picture?

@Barbara – We usually don’t include much information on the cover of the CEA Advisor so that people will open up the publication to find out more.
