April 28, 2009

discussion outside on a beautiful spring dayCEA sponsors the Sparks Conference to help newer members take charge of their profession, classroom, and future.  The conference gives newer members the chance to learn about and discuss issues that are of concern to them with other new members.

The Sparks Conference was held April 24-26 at the Old Taber Inne in Mystic.  Participants heard from CEA staff members and officers, worked together to brainstorm ideas and discuss important topics, and exercised their bodies as well as their minds with morning yoga.

“It is a great opportunity to learn about things that affect you everyday, and to learn about how the union can impact your ability to provide your students with your best.”

“It was a great chance to get to know more about the union and to network.”

“Sparks is a great way to find out more about what CEA and NEA really do and why they are important.”
